Our collection of trips take you around the world, but what really makes them special is the people you go with. Leading the way, our Local Insiders have all the knowledge and expertise to show you famous landmarks, hidden gems and one-of-a-kind experiences you won’t find anywhere else. Here’s a brief introduction to some of the passionate travel lovers who you’ll meet when you join one of our upcoming trips.

Let’s start with one of our first ever trips and one that is a constant best-seller too. Iceland is the ultimate bucket-list destination for many. ‘There are always mountains that I want to climb, recently discovered waterfalls I haven’t seen – it’s what I love about living here. There’s so much natural beauty, it would be almost impossible to see it all,’ says Hanna our Local Insider from Iceland.

Hanna feels most at home in Iceland’s wild landscapes

Hanna recently led a trip that was all-female and told us about the experience. ‘It was really interesting – it was just six of us girls on the route, and right away it just felt like we were all friends who’d known each other for years rather than strangers who’d just met.’

Culture Trip’s CEO Ana took the chance to meet a fantastic Local Insider in Cairo on a visit to Egypt earlier this year. Mudi has been showcasing the hidden (and not-so-hidden) treasures of his homeland for a number of years and was eager to show Ana just some of the elements of our Ultimate Egypt trip.

Local Insider Mudi is on hand to show you some of the best spots in Cairo including the recognisable wonder here…

From Egypt to another one of Ana’s favourite destinations now as we head off to Turkey and a fascinating conversation with Onur. Our ever-popular Majestic Turkey adventure ticks off pretty much everything you could possibly want to do in the land where Asia meet Europe. From Istanbul to Antalya, via the stunning rock formations of Cappadocia, Culture Trip’s expert team have curated the perfect itinerary for you.

“We start in Istanbul, where two continents meet. It’s a big vibrant city and it gives you a good chance to see both the history and the modern side of Turkey. It’s a unique start”, Onur explains.

“Then we go further inland to the capital, Ankara, for a different side of the country. And then we go to one of my real highlights – Cappadocia is both culturally and geographically very special. It is breath-taking.”

Fouad – our expert from Morocco – has also spent time compiling a fantastic desert itinerary that complements the city-based activities his country has to offer. This leads us into the mountains with a pleasant hike that will put you back in touch with nature. ‘We try to take you across every range of the Atlas Mountain,’ Fouad tells us. Spanning across North Africa, you won’t be expected to traverse the entirety of the mountains – but you will get to experience every type of environment that Fouad thinks is worth visiting.

Fouad from Morocco will take you around his home on various modes of transport

One highlight on everyone’s bucket list is the wanderlust haven of Chefchaouen. ‘The Blue City is beautiful with blue streets that are popular with tourists. We get to speak to locals and immerse ourselves in the culture here. We get to find out about what it’s like to live here, and that’s something you don’t get to do as a tourist.’

If you’re looking to explore Asia then you’re in luck because we don’t just have the best destinations lined up for you perusal but also a great array of Local Insiders waiting to introduce you to unforgettable places where you’ll make a lifetime of memories.

“I’m very proud that I get to work with Culture Trip and meet different people from different countries”, Tini from Bali explains. “I can introduce my culture but I can also learn more from the guests too. I feel like a friend and even like family when I’m with them.”

“Bali is a beautiful island which is in harmony with the environment. People are friendly and warm, and that’s why you should visit Bali!”

We’ll leave the final word with Mudi who shares with us why Culture Trip’s unique approach to small group travel is the best way to explore the world whilst being kind to it.
