A classic bistro with an old world feel. Anjou serves up comfort food within its lunch, brunch, earlybird and dinner menus, with fresh vegetables and seafood and choice cuts of meat. The menus combine traditional American and Mississippi fare, with steak and burgers being served alongside catfish and crabmeat. The cheese, charcuterie and oyster plates are popular among diners and further showcase the freshness of the ingredients. The setting is relaxed, with elegant exposed brickwork and a large wine rack at the rear of the restaurant. The interior design and the lakeside patio brings diners back to old Mississippi, with great views, elegance and simplicity which has made it one of the most charming spots in The Township.

The restaurant was opened with the aim of providing Ridgeland with a spot for great food, service and atmosphere, that is both a family friendly spot and a lively nightspot. It has been voted best burger for three years running, with freshly prepared food and a variety of toppings ranging from pimento cheese to pineapples. The signature BnB Burger, Sonic Boom and The County Line being the most popular. You can also take on The Whammy, three 1lb patties with all the trimmings to be finished in 30 minutes or less as part of the restaurant’s ultimate eating challenge.

Ely’s Restaurant & Bar

One of the best steaks in Mississippi, Ely’s (pronounced E-lee’s) seves top quality menu selections coupled with fine service. Steaks are the main attraction here, with all being aged for a minimum of 28 days and seasoned with Ely’s gourmet seasoning and broiled at 1200 degrees. They also offer a selection of seafood and salads for the less carnivorous. This place also boasts a substantial wine list and top shelf martini and cocktail selections, for a fine accompaniment to dinner or an after hours treat. The decor is clean and contemporary with a fine dining influence, and upstairs diners are treated to views of Olde Towne Ridgeland and the railroad tracks.

Shapley’s

Since 1985, Shapley’s has been a Mississippi hotspot for steak and seafood. The restaurant offers good choices for all cuts of steak and multiple choices for the size of the fillet. The fresh seafood and varied appetizers add to the large, well-rounded menu which gives diners a good selection of some of the finest food in the Greater Jackson area. They also offer a superb wine list, with servers being able to recommend the best tipples for your steak. The seating is intimate with private seating, often in nooks, making it a perfect stop for date night.

Tico’s Steak House

The steak house market in the south is pretty saturated, but Tico’s holds its own as one of the best. Like all high end steak houses, it has an excellent wine selection as well as a variety of local and imported beers which are constantly being changed and updated. There is seafood on offer here, mainly Mississippi local fare such as catfish and shrimp, but you will find most if not all of the other diners ordering steak. The menu offers all of the finest cuts of steak all cooked to perfection, perfectly accompanied with Tico’s sides and sauces. It is popular among the locals and has a band of loyal followers, so booking is advised.

Homecooked food that is served from one family to another. Trace Grille was opened by the Thompson family in 1999. They wanted to share their home recipes on a larger scale and have already moved locations in order to accommodate their growing popularity. The interior is big and welcoming, and the walls feature large, attractive photographs of Mississippi’s wildlife. The food is simple, classic southern fare; homemade burgers, baby back ribs, freshly made salad dressings and their ever-popular fried green tomatoes are their menu staples, with other items changing in accordance with availability. A local favorite, Little Tokyo Japanese Restaurant is said to have the best sushi in town. As a Ridgeland staple for more than 20 years, Little Tokyo began as the only sushi restaurant in town. Now, spreading mainly through word of mouth, it’s fresh fish is comparable to the world’s best. The restaurant’s spicy tuna and caramelized rice cakes make for a favorite traditional Japanese meal, while Little Tokyo’s drinks and bartenders consistently receive rave reviews from restaurant regulars.
