The Best Coffee Shops In Little Rock

Anna T. Wilson

The great thing about baristas and shop owners in Little Rock is that they always know where their coffee beans come from and they plan when to serve certain roasts during the year for optimum effect. Some are very willing to create new drinks on the spot for adventurous and willing customers. With that in mind, here’s a list of the top coffee shops in Arkansas‘ capital.

River City Coffee

River City Coffee

River City Coffee has a passion and love for coffee which is evident among the baristas. They are ready and willing to serve customers personal coffee creations; to figure out who serves what, check out the website. Each barista has their own page that also has a short statement about why they love coffee and why they love River City Coffee. On the favorites menu are drinks for every time of year: the Cinnamon Roll for winter, Lavender Latte for spring, Trifecta for summer, and the Pumpkin Latte for fall. If the specialty coffees are not to your taste, go for the bottomless coffe.

Andina Cafe & Coffee Roastery

Cafe, American, Coffee, Tea

Andina Cafe & Coffee Roastery ground and roast their coffee and espresso to ensure the best fresh tasting coffee for every customer’s morning or afternoon. Choose from their premium blends or their exotic Andina dark roasts. Buddy’s Ethiopian yirgacheffe has hints of honeysuckle, the Costa Rican tarraza taparto is spicy with hints of lemon, the Guatemala huehue tenago has a sweet aroma and hints of citrus, and the Kenya AA Dark has a wine-like flavor that never goes unnoticed.

Mugs Cafe

Cafe, American, Fast Food, Coffee, Tea

Mugs Cafe is a friendly, sociable spot. Enjoy bottomless coffee, drip coffee, a latte, a cappuccino, or try a pour-over cup of a clean tasting, fresh and rich cup of coffee. For those hot days, of which there are many in Arkansas, try their wild tribe mocha frappuccino or the Tahitian vanilla frappuccino to cool off and get a quick pick-me-up.

Mylo Coffee Co

Mylo Coffee Co takes raw green beans from single farms, estates, cooperatives and turns them into a smooth-tasting online coffee menu. They have unique specials, like the maple cinnamon cappuccino, rosewater cappuccino, orange blossom hot chocolate, and the house-made mint lemonade. A food menu is also available and the organic flour, meat, and eggs are sourced only from Arkansas producers; local dairy, fruits, and vegetables are used as much as possible.

The Root Cafe

Restaurant, Bistro, Cafe, American, Fast Food, Vegetarian, Vegan

The Root Cafe sources their ingredients from small farms and producers in Arkansas as much as they possibly can. Meat, eggs, bread and much of the vegetables, fruits, nuts, and cheeses are from such farms and their coffee is just as fresh. They use Mountain Bird Coffee from Eureka Springs, which is also known as Stevie’s espresso for all of their drinks. The organic Peruvian roast from Rozark Hills is their regular house coffee and is a delightful way to start the morning. If you need to substitute two percent, whole, or skimmed milk for something with no lactose, the baristas are more than happy to make your favorite latte or cappuccino with soy or almond milk.
