The Black Sea shores are shared between Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Russia, Ukraine and Romania, which all have beaches for every type of traveler. From the busy party hubs with the best summer music festivals to the secluded coves for those who crave serenity, here are the best beaches along the Black Sea Coast.

Smokinya Beach, Bulgaria

Pub

Smokinya is one of the best beaches near the seaside town of Sozopoland a long-time favorite camping spot on the coast. Its wide sandy beach and calm waters make it a perfect spot for families. Some of the most popular beach bars are located along the same stretch of coastline, on both sides of Smokinya Beach, so all you need to do is just walk along the coast for your very own ‘pub crawl’.

Vityazevo Beach, Russia

Vityazevo Beach on Russia‘s Black Sea Coast is a paradise for families, with its fine white sand and shallow waters. There are all kinds of summer attractions both for kids and adults, so you can be sure you won’t get bored. The water is warm in July and August, and although this is the time when the biggest crowds come to the beach, it’s so spacious that you can always find a serene spot.

Though Turkey is a popular summer destination, its Black Sea Coast remains relatively unknown – the Mediterranean sun-soaked coast overshadows the northern side with more amenities, more sun and a greater choice. On the other hand, the Black Sea Coast will offer you fewer crowds and more deserted beaches. Şile is a popular spot with inhabitants of Istanbul, many of whom have summer houses here as it’s just an hour’s drive from the city. The fortress and the lighthouse make the unique skyline of the town, while the beach consists both of rocks and sand.

Shekvetili, Georgia

Amusement Park, Concert Hall, Park

The 5 km (3 mile)-long beach at Shekvetili is the perfect combination of hot sand and pine trees offering a cooling shaded spot for shelter. Shekvetili is packed with vacation activities from the Tsitsinatela Amusement Park to the Black Sea Arena, the biggest concert hall across the Caucasus, and the Miniature Park showcasing scale models of the biggest attractions in Georgia. http://instagram.com/p/BZYEzNmgEnv/?taken-at=1005255417

Mtsvane Kontskhi, Georgia

Botanical Garden

Mtsvane Kontskhi means ‘The Green Cape’, and it is a most accurate name for the area where the Batumi Botanical Gardenspreads straight up from the beach. This lush area has nine sectors with plants representing the Mediterranean Coast, Australia and New Zealand, East Asia, the Himalayas, Mexico and more. The beach itself is sandy and the water is clean. Mtsvane Kontskhi is a popular diving spot in Georgia as well.

Mamaia, Romania

Hotel

If you’re into luxury and style, Mamaia is one of the best places to head to in Romania. The party season opens pretty early here – at the end of April, the Sunwaves Festival gathers EDM lovers and world-famous DJs together on the sand. However, if you like the area of Mamaia but would love some more peace and quiet, head to the nearby Mamaia S Camping with its green lawns and shady tent spots under the trees, a stone’s throw from the beach.

Langeron Beach, Ukraine

Villa

Langeron is one of the oldest and most popular beaches in Odessa, Ukraine. It used to be the place where the French Count Langeron, formerly the city’s Military Governor, built his summer villa. There is a Dolphinarium on the beach where you can watch the show of the dolphins. This place is all about the hustle and party of the summer season, so expect it to be crowded in the peak of the season.
